In ArchiCAD 14, the dialog for setting the North direction of the projects can be found under the following Pulldown menu:
"Options > Project Preferences > Levels & Project North"


Once this value has been set, it is quite common to introduce a North Symbol on the Floor plan.
In the Object tool, under 1. BASIC LIBRARY 14 > 1.7 2D Elements > Graphic Symbols 14 > Signs 14, you will the 'North Symbol 14' object.

There are many parameters in this object but one very important one is the option to "Follow Project North" which automatically links to the angle from the dialog box above.
Also an important option is whether the object scales with the model or remains a constant printed size, which is available as a pullout menu option, shown below..
