There are two ways to achieve the representation of insulation in Floor Plan & Section - the 'object-based' method is outlined below.

The classic "InsulFib" object, which is a 2D object, can be found in the folder ArchiCAD Library 14 > 1.Basic Library 14 > 1.7 2D Elements 14 > Graphic Symbols 14 > Signs 14
There is another complementing object, InsulFibcut, in the same object folder which helps deal with turning the insulation at junctions etc.


These 2D objects

• Have to be placed manually in all Plans, Sections & Elevations
• Are not linked to underlying geometry
• Can be stretched to any rectangular size, and will scale/resize appropriately
